Random House Still Making Acquisitions

Random House announced today that they are acquiring quirky California publisher Ten Speed Press. Since its start in 1971, the publisher has grown to be a leader in the vegetarian, spiritual, and self-help categories with approximately 100 new titles issued every year and a backlist of 1,000 books.

Bestsellers for Ten Speed include Richard Bolles' What Color Is Your Parachute; Mollie Katzen's The Moosewood Cookbook; and The New Detox Diet by Elson Haas and Daniella Chase.

According to initial announcements from Random House and Ten Speed, the company's editorial offices will remain in Berkeley, California.
