During yesterday's lively meeting of Book Publishers Northwest, many members discussed how entering contests can help boost a book's visibility. The most cited contest was PMA's Benjamin Franklin awards (see pma-online.org for more information), not only for their size but also for the feedback given to all entrants.
One visitor to our group commented that she was disappointed by the IPPY awards, which did not seem to include any such feedback.
We're always interested in hearing from other publishers about what works or doesn't work about entering contests.
